What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Simon’s love for Ninja training goes beyond physical challenges; it’s about connecting with friends from different backgrounds. Each session and competition allows him to meet fellow Ninjas, creating a supportive community. For Simon, these interactions are about building lasting friendships. He enjoys hanging out with peers, sharing tips, and cheering each other on. These bonds make every obstacle overcome and skill mastered even more meaningful, turning training sessions into fun adventures.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Simon is inspired by everyone around him, especially from a young age when he watched Ninja shows daily. Currently, he looks up to Talan Yorn, the Lyme Ninja. Despite battling Lyme disease, Talan pursues his passion in American Ninja Warrior. His resilience motivates Simon to push through his training, reminding him that with determination, anything is possible.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of my proudest moments for Simon this year was when he consistently qualified for the World Championships. He hasn’t yet earned a national medal, but he ranked 24th in the World Ninja League (WNL) for ages 9 and under and 35th in the UNAA 10th Anniversary competition. Additionally, Simon is the current Bay Area Ninja League champion, showcasing his dedication and talent. His commitment to improving fills me with pride and excitement for his future in the sport.
