What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Skylar has been playing sports since she was 3. She wants to be the best at what she does and she is very competitive. Her favorite part about softball is stealing bases. Skylar says she loves playing sports because of how fun they are and it keeps her in shape.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Her dad is her biggest fan! He coaches high school sports but has her out there everyday before her own practices, putting in extra work. He makes sure she gets to her games and practices and works extra to make sure she can have the proper training she needs to excel. He doesn’t criticize her when she makes a mistake, but shows her how to overcome that mistake and be better.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

There is so much I could say about making the winning shot or hitting a home run, but my proudest moments are when she has played a 2 or 3 day tournament with one team and comes home just to go straight to a 2-3 hour practice with another team and not complain about it. She has her mind set on a couple of different colleges and she knows the only way to play sports with them is by putting in the work and having good grades. It’s her mindset that makes us the proudest.
