She loves the fast pace of lacrosse, the aggressive play and the teamwork. With every game she has learned to be prouder of assists than goals and when I can’t go the first thing she says now is “mom I got 6 assists today”. She loves the competition and the fact that being one of the youngest and smallest that she has to be on her grind at all times. She works daily on stick work and learning to use both hand to shoot cradle and compete. She is a ground ball machine picking up the majority.
Her big brother is a lacrosse player and she worships the ground he walks on. Just today she gave him a picture she colored and a picture of them in lacrosse uniforms as we were packing him for college and she said “this is so you always remember me at college”. She also watches college games and when she is at club tournaments questions which coach may want to start to recruit her. Right now she has her eyes set on UNC.
Truthfully at 7 her understanding that an assist is worth more than a goal because without the assist you don’t have the goal. To see that and see the field as clear as she does at this age is amazing. She also loves every teammate with her whole heart! She puts 100% of her huge amount of energy into every practice, every play and every hug she delivers. She is already making a mark at the age of 7!
