What Sofia loves most about softball is that there’s always something new to learn every time she steps on the field. She especially loves being on the mound, where she feels confident, focused, and in her element. But more than anything, it’s her teammates and coaches who make it special—always standing together and supporting each other, no matter the outcome.
Sofia’s dad was the first to introduce her to softball, sharing everything he knows about the game. But his impact goes far beyond the field. His dedication, humility, and work ethic inspire Sofia every day. She plays with passion and purpose, motivated by his constant support and the example he sets both as a coach and, most importantly, as her dad.
Sofia’s proudest moment in her athletic journey came in 2024 when her team won the Illinois Little League Junior State Championship. This achievement meant the world to her and her team, especially since she has played Little League since t-ball in her neighborhood—that’s where her love for the game began. Her team also won the Illinois District 10 title three times representing her hometown. The state championship was even more special because her dad was her coach.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
