The challenge and the competitiveness. It forces her to work harder. She enjoys proving to herself and coaches that she could bring her smart decisions from the basketball court to the softball field and then to the track. Track brings out growth improvements and keeps her in shape. The discipline she gains from sports also encourages her to work harder.
College Womens basketball and the WNBA has always inspired Sophia. She loves watching the women play the game with confidence and attitudes. It inspires her because it makes her want to work harder to get there to experience it.
Our proudest moment so far in Sophia's athletic journey was when she was invited to play in OTAs with the varsity girls basketball team in 5th grade. I was proud to watch her take her spot so seriously. She worked hard and earned every minute she was given on the court. I knew my girl was something special.
