What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

She loves that she can be independent and race her heart out, she loves that not many girls race that she knows of and it’s a tough sport mentally and physically, but she’s out there training on the track or in our field on our homemade dirt track (which she wishes it was pavement.) She loves the track that she races at and they are so supportive, and encouraging! We honestly wouldn’t be here without @sandyhook speedway!

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

A lot of racers, Ty Scott- she would watch him with her dad since we know him! Kayla Yaakov, Marc Marquez are others that Sophia really enjoys watching and searching to see how they are doing! Sophia will also sit and watch the other races at the track to always try to learn or pick up something else!

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

Sophia had a very bad crash this year and she laid on the track for a little while it was one of the scariest moments in my life, finally when we were able to enter the track to run out to her she laid there crying about her shoulder. We talked about going to the hospital, but she didn’t want to she wanted to finish her race, so we put a sling on for about 30 minutes and put ice on it, she went back out and finished 3rd that day! She will move mountains someday! Dream big!
