Stephen loves practice, loves training, and loves games. Because he loves football. And he loves the camaraderie with his team mates. He never wants to leave when its time to go and we do stay late but even when we do hes not happy about leaving. Stephen sleeps with his football by choice. He loves everything about the game. I give him old football books to read- jerry rice, johnny U, Tim Brown, Fran Tarkenton. He loves the history of the game as well.
Scramblin’ Fran! How does a 7 year old know that? Stephen loves to read and got into a couple of older football books about old quarterbacks- and we would pull up on clips. Tarkenton was his fav- wanting to he able to run, scramble and throw just like him. Stephen’s Mom and Dad are always on that list to. Not just to inspire, but hold accountable as well!
Every game that he scored a touchdown- he would ask the coach to play oline so his team mates could score touchdowns. As a qb, being selfless is a key attribute. He has that trait. And when he did get some time on the Oline, he got after it. Stephen being an unselfish player to help his brothers makes me super proud as a father. His work ethic at such a young age is amazing. Every second of his athletic journey is a privilage and he understands that.
