Sydney loves karate because it makes her happy, strong, and confident. It challenges her mentally and physically, and teaches her discipline, resilience, and the value of hard work. Training helps her stay focused and reminds her not to give up—even when things get tough. Karate brings balance to her life and has shaped who she is, both on and off the mat.
Sydney is inspired by her parents and coaches for their wisdom, support, and experience. She also looks up to the other girls in her sport—their passion, spirit, and love for karate motivate her to keep pushing and growing.
It’s not just one moment—I’m proud every time she steps on the mat. Her sport takes courage, grit, and heart. I’m proud of the wins, the losses, and the relentless effort she puts in without ever being asked. What makes me proudest is seeing her grow into someone who commits herself with purpose and passion.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
