Receive Text UpdatesWhat Talyah loves most about gymnastics is competing. The butterflies in her stomach that she feels before competing is what gives her the motivation to go hard. She considers herself her biggest competition so trying to beat her previous scores is what drives her to keep a positive mindset. She prays before each competition and eats the same breakfast. Competing is what Talyah trains every day for. Once she hits the mats, she becomes a different person. A girl that is there to do her job.
Olympian Hezly Rivers inspires Talyah when she’s inside and outside of the gym. Hezly was the underdog when it came to qualifying for the Olympics. She wasn’t the big name or the one that everyone talked about. She trained quietly and when it was time, she showed the world what she was made of. Even though Talyah doesn’t train at one of the largest facilities and her gym’s name is just becoming popular, she was still able to reach 1st Place on the podium at her biggest meet this past season.
Talyah reached her goal this past season of qualifying to the 2025 Regional State Team to compete at Regional Championships. The day before Regionals, she tested positive for the flu. She made it clear that nothing was going to keep her from competing. She stayed fueled, took meds and rested. Even though she was not 100% on competition day, she walked through the doors with her head up and kept that Mamba Mentality. She stayed focused on her training, pushed herself and won the GOLD at age 10.
