Tariq enjoys the camaraderie he gets from being out there with others. He loves cheering on his teammates and winning. He set goals and challenged himself in track, he remained coachable and achieved success. In flag football, he loves learning the plays and generally being on the field. On the soccer field, he loves defending and setting plays with his team.
Tariq is inspired by both of his sisters. As the youngest, he watched his sisters excel on and off the field, adapt to living in multiple countries, and navigate various sports. All the while letting him know, anything is possible if you put your mind to it and are willing to put in the work. “Hard work and dedication”
Tariq’s first time ever running in a track and field event he medaled in the 60 meter. This was most impressive because it came only a few weeks after being hospitalized for pneumonia.
