Thank you for generously supporting Tasha in this year’s competition. Your support helps empower the V Foundation for Cancer Research and the Why Not You Foundation in their respective missions to save lives and empower today's youth to become tomorrow's leaders.
The challenge, Tasha has faced so much struggle neither if it’s racism, sexism, injuries or just competition she always makes sure to work through it and she believes the answer to adversity is hard work and being confidence in your ability and she gets to show that through her athletic career.
One of Tasha’s biggest inspirational athletes is UConn’s athlete Azzi Fudd, their stories with injury is similar and since Tasha plays basketball and is coming back from a major knee injury, seeing Azzi Fudd’s story has inspired her. She also loves to see Trinity Rodman from USWNT play, she loves Trinity’s playing style and the way she dribbles through the defense.
When Tasha got cleared for Soccer and Basketball, I was very proud, of course because she could finally put her hard work to use and show everyone. But most especially because it showed that the process was worth it. All the different books she read to strengthen her mindset and confidence for athletics. All the different people she reached out to for advice. All the different agility, plyometrics and strength trainings she had weekly. I am so proud of her for not giving up.
