Receive Text UpdatesTaylan explained, honestly, it's the excitement, the rush I feel every time I step on the court. The sound of sneakers on the hardwood, the crowd cheering, that split-second before the shot goes in — it’s like nothing else. It’s where I feel most excited and it’s more than just the game. it’s about legacy too. My dad played, my older brother played where I go to high school and he plays in college, and now it’s my turn. Every time I lace up, I feel like I’m carrying our family name with me.
His big brother and his father inspire him. His brother played at the high school that he currently goes to and Taylan proudly took over his big brother’s number after he graduated. His father also played high school basketball for Roman Catholic and in college. They are both training him for college and he’s been playing over the summer with his older brother with his college team and at 15, he’s able to keep up with them.
Him learning by watching his older brother to control his emotions. Even though he might be off that day, there’s still more games to play. He’s enthusiastic and leads by example. Congratulations everyone and encourages his teammates off and on the court.
