What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

There isn’t any one specific thing I love about softball. The feeling of throwing & hitting the ball, the crack of bat, being with my teammates and the essence of being a softball player is what drives my love for the sport. Knowing that everyone can leave everything on the field, they worked hard each inning and as a catcher I have a big role in helping my team do that is amazing.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Off the field, I'm inspired by my mom. She supports me in everything I do and gives me opportunities I would never have gotten if it weren’t for her. She works vigorously to be a good mom for my brother and I. I aspire to have her drive, insight, wisdom, foresight and one day radiate the same beautiful shine as her. On the field, I admire NiJaree Canady because she has not only made strides for the game of softball, women athletes but for athletes who look like me!

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

During the championship game it was pouring rain and the backup pitcher was having difficulty on the mound due to weather, getting up from home plate and walking over to encourage the pitcher even though, as catcher, I was tired myself having played the entire season with no backup. After a quick conversation, I returned to home plate, caught the next two strikes and made the final tag on the runner from third to help my team win the first championship for my team and school in history.
