Someone who inspires me is sensei Ricky because he always pushes me to be my best self and has encourage me and my team to dominate in every aspect of life. His pep talks always made me want to train hard, practice, and always finish strong and I admire his dedication to the craft of karate.
One of my proudest moments in my athletic journey is being able to advance to a black belt and perform a weapons form with Kamas after months of physical therapy to regain strength and flexibility in my arms and legs after having spine surgery. This was the first time my sensei had seen me back on the mat and family and friends were there to support all the talent I displayed on stage. I managed to complete my routine without dropping my weapon and ended it off with a some flawless acrobatics.
