What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Trace has a burning passion for sports which started a very early age.  In fact, his first word was "ball."  He loves having the opportunity to show others what he can do.  He has a fierce work ethic that pushes him to be the very best he can be in all aspects of life.  He loves having the opportunity to make a better life for not only himself; but also his family.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Trace is most inspired by his stepdad, Clay, who passed away a few years ago.  Clay showed Trace what it means to be a real man. He showed Trace what it meant to be ‘coachable’ and how to take feedback. Clay held Trace accountable and gave him courage when Trace doubted himself or felt down. He gave Trace the confidence he needed in himself to become the best man he could be on and off the field.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

I am always proud to see my son drop to a knee and pray before every single game.  To see him take a kid out and after the play go back to help the kid up always warms my heart.  However, as a parent I am most proud of my son when he is proud of himself. It was amazing to see him score the winning goal in a major soccer game; and to see him play in the football state championship game. That was the first football state championship in 32yrs and it was incredible to see my son be a part of that.
