Tre

My son has shown leadership. He has also been helping the other guys on his teams as well. With corrections and movements on the mound.

What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

He loves that he gets to do what he loves. He stays positive even when it’s not going well. He loves the laughter with his teammates and interacting with the other team when they make it to his base. He loves the feel of the bat, the ball being released to the catcher, the strike outs, the other team hitting off his pitch, the slide into the base and making it in time and most of all the moment he walks out onto the field it’s his game.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Every coach he has had. From little league, to private lessons, to travel baseball and most of all his dad. The man that stepped up to teach him. To sit on a bucket and pitch, to correcting his swing, to being there every moment of every game. To talk about the highs and lows. To looking over to the side saying I don’t know what I’m doing. For dad to have a secret language with him to fix his pitching from the sidelines.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

There are several. First one would be the moment he hit his first home run. The smile on his face was so contagious. He ran his bases and went to the dugout and looked right at us and smiled. He said I didn’t even feel it. We knew that would be the first of many. My second is receiving a phone call for him to teach younger kids how to play the game. At 13 years old that is a huge accomplishment. I couldn’t be prouder of his multi tasking between baseball, wrestling, school and family.
