You decide who will be named Youth Athlete of the Year, featured in a 3BRAND ad in Sports Illustrated, and take home $25,000
Trent loves challenging himself to be his best at practice and games. Before every game, he shares with me what his goals are for that day and how he plans to achieve those goals. After the game he likes to talk about how he preformed and if he needs to work on something before the next game. Playing baseball isn’t just a sport that he plays for fun, it is EVERYTHING to him. He writes down what *he thinks he should work on and tapes it to his mirror so he knows what to work on to get better.
Jose Altuve inspires Trent because he was rejected by several different team tryouts due to his size. People doubted that he could make it to the big leagues. He proved them wrong by having a Hall of Fame career that is ongoing. Never let rejection stop you when you know that you can do something.
I’m the proudest of Trent’s determination, focus, dedication, commitment to working hard and understanding that if you want more, you must be willing to do more. I could say that I’m proud of his hitting, pitching and fielding but my proudest moments are of him working every day to improve himself when no one is looking. His trainers see how hard he works, how hungry he is to “make it” and seeing him work to reach those goals are my proudest moments in his baseball journey.
