Receive Text UpdatesTy loves the camaraderie that comes with playing baseball. While being on the field brings him joy, the gift of friendship is unmatched. With an injury ending his season short, Ty discovered and displayed crucial aspects of baseball: Character and integrity. He continued to show up and cheer on his team from the dugout all season, ending with taking home the City Championship title. A perfect ending!
Ty credits his teammate Cole as the source of his inspiration. He watched Cole suffer two injuries during his Little League career and then come back stronger each time, continuing to develop his baseball skills. Ty silently held onto this example as he journeyed through his knee injury this season. Now, he is thrilled to publicly name his friend and teammate as the source of his inspiration. Thanks, Cole!
For three years, I envisioned Ty’s 12th birthday: He’d run down the 3rd baseline to Home Plate to collect his Little League pin at Opening Ceremonies. The day would be perfect! Instead, his teammates carried him down because his knee injury was fresh and his season was over before it really even started. The pinnacle year. I was crushed. Not Ty, though! On the way to Ceremonies, Ty blasted John Fogerty’s Centerfield and exclaimed: You think I’m gonna let this ruin my year, mom?! I was so proud.
