You decide who will be named Youth Athlete of the Year, featured in a 3BRAND ad in Sports Illustrated, and take home $25,000
What I love most about freestyle skiing is the community. Everyone is there to push themselves, but also to support and build each other up. It’s a sport where you’re really competing against yourself, setting your own challenges and goals. The people around you help you grow, and it’s incredible to be part of a group that’s so motivated and positive. When I am in the start gate, it is only me and what I put down that the judges are judging.
I’m inspired by my dad, who showed me that even when things get hard, you don’t quit — you keep pushing towards your goals, and you’ll get there. He taught me to learn from the journey because those lessons will build the foundation for success. Coach Dave has also inspired me by always being honest in my training and pushing me to never settle for just good enough. He’s taught me to always push harder and put down my very best, even when I don't think I have it in me.
One of my proudest moments so far in my skiing journey was earning my NORAM spot. At the age of 16, all my hard work started to pay off, and I earned the opportunity to compete against some of the top talent from across Canada and the United States. It showed me that dedication and persistence do matter.
