Even in a male-dominated sport like boxing, she shows that passion, hard work, and courage have no gender. She strives to be a positive role model for kids her age and the younger generation, always giving 110% in everything she does while being humble.
My family inspires me for example my older sister, Watching her train and fight with so much heart showed me that girls belong in the ring too. She taught me how to be tough, focused, and proud of who I am. My coach who is also my dad by believing in me before I believed in myself. He pushed me to work hard and showed me that I was capable of more than I thought, My mom for never giving up and always supporting me, and by the younger girls who come up to me and say, ‘I want to be like you.’
Every moment watching Vanessa step into the ring fills me with pride and joy. Boxing is no easy journey, but witnessing her dedication in the months leading up to a competition is truly inspiring. She trains relentlessly, pushing herself to improve, maintaining her weight with discipline, and all the while earning straight As in school. Her determination and drive are nothing short of extraordinary.
