He loves the action and competition. He loves trying to pick people off, striking them out with pitches and blasting home runs. He just generally loves being a part of and helping his team compete.
I'm pretty sure I've been his inspiration besides MLB players. He's hit a grand slam off of me in a coach pitch tournament when he was 9. He asked me that game if I would pitch so he can try and hit one off of me. I made the newspaper when I was 9 for hitting a game winning grand slam. He loves the players I grew up with the most. His full name is Vincent Edward, which is Bo Jackson's full name. Vinnie knows Bo is my favorite of all time and that's why I named him after Bo.
We were in a tournament this past season in Rockford, Illinois. We were down by three with bases loaded and two outs. Vin comes up to bat. The field we were on had 300 foot fences. He has 3-2 count, then blasts one straight center. The center fielder was on the run going to the fence. Then it dropped right into the center fielders glove close to the warning track. I looked at Vin and said, "that was the game changer." His response was, "yeah, he made a great catch on the run." Sportsmanship😁
