Waylon loves that in baseball you’re playing outdoors and always making new friends. He loves learning all of the rules and explaining them to his teammates to help them understand and play better. He says he loves that size doesn’t matter and anyone can achieve greatness in baseball as long as they keep trying.
Waylon says his grandpa (BopBop) inspires him. Bopbop inspires him because he’s always helping him out and telling him how to become better. Bopbop played baseball as well growing up and is so proud that Waylon is following in his footsteps. Waylon just wants to make him proud.
Spring ‘25, their team had a Cinderella story, winning a few games but bottom of the barrel when it came to who would win the championship. They played the undefeated team and put Waylon in a new position he had never really played, 1st. He didn’t complain, he just went out there and did it & did it well. They ended up winning the championship but what followed is what made me proud. He went out there, humble (not rubbing it in) and congratulated the other players and shook all of their hands.
