What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Xander loves sports because they make him feel strong, confident, and part of a team. He especially loves the bond it gives him with his dad, who played professional basketball. Xander looks up to him and wants to follow in his footsteps. He admires his dad’s hard work, love for the game, and the way he supports him with encouragement and wisdom. Playing sports helps Xander grow, stay focused, and believe in himself, just like his dad taught him to.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Xander is inspired first by God, who gives him strength, courage, and purpose in all he does. He also draws inspiration from his family, his parents, who believe in him and cheer him on every step of the way, and his sisters, who motivate him to be a strong, loving example. Their support, faith, and love remind him that he’s never alone, and that with God and family by his side, he can face anything and grow into the person he’s meant to be.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One of the proudest moments in Xander’s athletic journey was when he ran the 100m for his school’s track team as the only kindergartener in the entire district. He stood at the starting line with kids much older than him, fearless and focused. Watching him sprint with heart, determination, and joy brought tears to our eyes. His courage and confidence at such a young age showed us the incredible strength and spirit he carries within.
