Xavier loves the competition that comes with sports. He loves being able to meet other athletes who he can learn from as well as encourage him to keep going when it gets tough. He loves the opportunity to talk to his coaches to see what he needs to work on to keep getting better.
He is inspired by his mom. When asked why, he said because his mom sacrifices so much to make sure he’s able to play the sports he loves. She always there rooting him on from the sidelines and reminding him of the leader he is. His mom inspires him because even when he’s had an off game, she reminds him that even the greatest athletes have off games and don’t let that stop him from getting back out there.
During a football practice drill, he blocked a teammate and the teammate ended up with a broken elbow. When he found out his friends elbow was broke he immediately cried. The next practice, he went up to his teammate and apologized. The teammate told him it’s part of the game. He used that as fuel to make sure safety always comes first. He wore his friends number on his helmet and constantly checked in on his friend until he was able to come back to play.
