What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Yah’san has spoken on how he loves the fact that football provides a positive outlet for him. It has given him a healthy way to cope with the things in his life both on and off the field that could have otherwise had a negative impact on him. It keeps him away from people places and things that are not in his best interests or serve him in a manner that is positive or conducive to creating the best possible future for himself and those he loves. It has given the greatest form of discipline.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Off the field Yah’san is inspired by his mother who he has been known to call “Ms. Make It Happen”. Despite obstacles she faced she never fails to do what is needed to create the best possible environment for Yah’san and his brothers to thrive to their greatest capacity. Also both on and off the field he’s inspired by both his Father who never misses a game or opportunity to support his dreams and his Uncle Kordell Young who played for Rutgers and is well known for his talents in football.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

There are many moments in Yah’san’s athletic journey that have made me beyond proud. However his most recent achievement that has made me proud was him winning the Pylon 2025 National Championship. Despite the many obstacles he faced off the field that could have deterred him and caused him to give up instead he used it as fuel to work harder and achieve what he wanted for himself. It hurt to see him endure what he has but it made me so much prouder to see him accomplish what he has despite it.
