The thing Zak loves most about hockey is the friends he has made and the skills he has gained, which not only help him in the game of hockey but also outside of it. Hockey has helped him face his anxiety issues head-on and overcome some of them. He feels himself when on the ice. He is following in his grandfather's, grandmother's and uncles' footsteps, who all played hockey as well. He always comments, he needs to lose a tooth to fit into our hockey family.
My grandfather inspires me to be great at hockey. Both my grandparents played hockey and rooted for me every game, even from afar. I also enjoy watching the NHL and trying to do things I have seen them do. In the summer, I practice hockey on roller blades.
As a parent, I am proud that even though a coach made hockey hard for a bit, he still wants to play, after being told he should quit because he is allergic to the cold and has asthma- he is still fighting to be a better player. He is proudest moment was when he kept up with an older, stronger team.
