Thank you for generously supporting Ziaire in this year’s competition. Your support helps empower the V Foundation for Cancer Research and the Why Not You Foundation in their respective missions to save lives and empower today's youth to become tomorrow's leaders.
Ziaire havre been playing basketball since he was a 1 year old toddler. He would get buckets on his small basketball hoop and it would be so cute. What Ziaire loves most about playing basketball is the sportsmanship, the game itself, team work and helping his team win. It’s fun for him and a great outlet for him to get exercise, engage in friendly competitions, and meet new friends.
Ziaire is inspired by his family, his youth mentors and of course some of the great basketball players that have come before him such as Stephen Curry. Ziaire got a chance to work with Steph Curry and received a signed jersey from him. He was excited about that. We are constantly pouring into him by keeping him encouraged, speaking life into him, telling him how great he is and that he can do all things through Christ who strengthens him; with hard work, grit, and dedication.
One moment in Ziaire’s athletic journey that makes me proud is during the beginning when he started playing basketball; he didn’t think his was good enough and he wanted to quit. We kept encouraging him and he kept working at it, getting better, and now he loves the progress that he’s making and he was excited to help his AAU team win the championship this past season by being one of their starting 5 top players. His coaches and family are very proud of him and his progress and grit.
