Join the CompetitionWhat he loves most about sports is being part of a team, competing with his friends, and constantly learning and improving. Whether it's soccer, basketball, or baseball, he enjoys the challenge, the excitement of the game, and encouraging his teammates. Winning is fun, but for him it's really about working hard, having fun, building friendships, and always giving his best effort.
Abel says his dad inspires him both on and off the field because he is always there for every game, cheering him on, encouraging him to do his best, and helping him become a better athlete. His dad teaches him the importance of working hard, never giving up, showing good sportsmanship, and always giving 100%, no matter the outcome.
One moment that made us the proudest was when Abel was intentionally injured by an opposing player during a game. Instead of getting angry or trying to get even, he got back up, shook it off, and kept playing. Later, when that same player was seriously hurt, Abel immediately had his team take a knee while he went over to check on him. In that moment, he showed that compassion, respect, and sportsmanship matter more than winning.
