Addison loves everything about being on the ice. She loves the competition, being part of a team, spending time with her teammates, and challenging herself to get better every time she plays. Hockey has become much more than a sport for her. It’s where she has built friendships and confidence and found a place where she can push herself while having fun doing something she genuinely loves.
Addison's biggest inspirations are Madison Samoskevich and Collin Graf. She fell in love with hockey watching them play at Quinnipiac, and they inspired her to start playing herself. She still follows both in the pros and tries to model her game after them. Maddy has worked with Addison on and off the ice and remains close with her. Most importantly, they’ve shown her that being a great athlete also means being a great person and role model off the ice.
One of my proudest moments was watching Addison score her first ice hockey goal and seeing her entire team come off the bench to hug and celebrate with her. But I’m even prouder of the person hockey is helping her become. It has given her confidence, taught her teamwork and kindness, and inspired her to give back. At just 8 and 9 years old, she has volunteered with Learn to Skate and Learn to Play, helping other young girls discover and learn the game she loves.
