What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Addison was a competitive gymnast before she started cheering in 6th grade. She ultimately chose cheer over gymnastics because she was able to be a part of a team with her peers from our hometown. Cheer is the ultimate team sport. The support and motivation from her teammates to be successful is one of her favorite aspects of cheer. She also enjoys being a more well rounded athlete and learning new stunting positions. She also enjoys competing for a crowed and getting them pumped up!

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Addison is inspired by Gabi Butler. She follows her cheerleading career. What inspires her about Gabi Butler is her strength and motivation. Although she is older and has been cheering for a long time, Gabi is always striving for bigger and better tumbling passes and skills as well as flying skills. The fact that she has been able to make a career out of participating in a sport she loves is what makes Gabi Butler an inspiration.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

The moment in her athletic journey that made me the proudest is that during her seventh grade year, her team fell short of being able to head to nationals due to a judging error. It was a hard to watch their sister team make it and place first but she never stopped cheering them on. During her 8th grade year, her team was crowned state, regional, national and global champions! Everything happens for a reason!
