What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreI love playing volleyball because it has taught me so much throughout my life and helped shape who I am today. It’s given me the chance to meet new people, build friendships, and learn valuable skills both on and off the court. Through the sport, I’ve learned responsibility, discipline, and how to be mentally and physically tough while also being uplifting to others.
My mom and my coach inspire me on and off the volleyball court. They are two of the hardest-working people I know. Coach K pushes me to improve as a player, while my mom supports and encourages me, reminding me I am capable. They teach me to be responsible, respectful, determined, and confident. I’m grateful to have such good role models that push me to become the best version of myself.
My proudest moment is how far I’ve come in volleyball. Freshman year, I made the freshman team, and the next year I worked my way up to making varsity. It wasn’t easy and there were plenty of times when I had to push myself even when I was tired or discouraged. I put in countless hours of practice, stayed determined, and never gave up on my goals. Making varsity reminds me that hard work, dedication, and believing in myself really do pay off.
