What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Addy loves the excitement of stepping up to that plate and listening to all the cheers coming her way. Walking off the field after she made a great play and being able to celebrate those moments with her teammates. She loves that her teammates have become more like sisters and enjoys being able to play with them and hang out with them off the softball field.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Her biggest inspiration is her dad. A little over a year ago he was diagnosed with glioblastoma,a very aggressive brain cancer. He never missed watching her play. He was not always able to make it to the field but he would watch the games on gamechanger. No matter how bad he felt that day, he would always give her pointers and advice on what she can work on to help make her the best player she can be. She admires that fact that he pushed through to be there for her no matter how bad his day was

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

During a championship game Addy was up to bat with 2 outs and we were down runs. Unfortunately she struck out and we lost the game. She was so upset with herself and blamed herself for losing that game. That was our first season with travel softball and in that moment I thought she was going to quit and not want to play anymore. That was not the case, she just came back stronger and more determined to never let that happen again and that is one of my proudest moments. She never gave up!
