What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Adrian loves baseball because it allows him to grow and develop as an individual but also be on a team. He also loves getting to connect with other players and learn from them. He loves being able to try different positions and batting techniques.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Bo Jackson - “Because of how good of a player he was. He made the game look so easy”. Jackie Robinson - “He was the first African person to play in the MLB”. Shohei Ohtani - “His pitching skills inspire me to want to try pitching and new techniques”. Chris (father) & Ashlyn (step-mother) Nichols - “They support me and help me get better. They helped me branch out and try a sport I always wanted to play and now I want to do it as a career”.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

One moment in Adrian’s athletic career is when he decided to switch from playing football, which he started at a very young age, to playing baseball at the age of 11. It was an unexpected and scary change for him, but a good one. He had never played baseball before but excelled and spent the whole season improving and willing to learn the game and exhibit great sportsmanship to not only his team, but the opposing teams as well.
