What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

From Aisling - Hockey has given me an outlet for my emotions for as long as I can remember. When I was little and hated sitting still all day, I could go to hockey and skate around, and now when school or life gets stressful, I know I can just get on the ice and forget about all my problems. Hockey has also helped me build so many relationships. I have met so many amazing friends and mentors throughout the years I have played and can’t imagine my life without all of these people.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

From Aisling - I am inspired every day by so many people to be a better athlete and human, but for as long as I can remember, my biggest inspiration has been the female players around me. Seeing the women play in the 2018 Winter Olympics showed me, for the first time, that I could make it somewhere bigger in hockey, and ever since then I’ve known I wanted to really go somewhere with hockey.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

From Aisling - This past year, I played for a team full of younger, less experienced players, so we didn't do very well throughout the season. On this team, I had to take a leadership position as one of the older and more experienced players. After every tough loss, I kept my head up and tried to make the most out of the season. By the end of the season, we had all gotten a lot better and were actually able to win a game during our state tournament.
