What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

What I love most about basketball is that it challenges me to work hard, believe in myself, and never give up. I love the excitement of competing, making plays with my teammates, and seeing myself get better every time I step on the court. My dad has been a very special part of my basketball journey. He is always there cheering for me, practicing with me, and encouraging me when I make mistakes or have a tough game. He teaches me that success isn’t just about winning—it’s about working hard work

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

My dad inspires me both on and off the basketball court because he always believes in me and teaches me to believe in myself. On the court, he pushes me to work hard, practice even when something is difficult, and never give up when I make a mistake. He reminds me that I don’t have to be perfect—I just have to give my best and keep learning. Off the court, my dad teaches me to be kind, respectful, responsible, and to always treat people the right way. He shows me by being a role model to others.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

The moment in Alayna’s athletic journey that makes me the proudest happened during a tournament when she was injured in the middle of a game. As her mom, my first instinct was to want to take her off the court and make sure she was okay. But what I saw in her in that moment was something I will never forget. She was scared and hurting, but she stayed positive and focused on her team. She showed incredible courage and determination, and pushed through the game with her teammates
