What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreWhat I love most about playing basketball is the relationships I’ve been able to build along the way. Some of my closest friendships have come from being on a team and going through the highs and lows of the sport together. I love having people who push me to be better, encourage me when things get difficult, and celebrate the good moments with me. Basketball has given me memories and relationships that I know I’ll carry with me long after I stop playing.
My mom inspires me the most. She has always encouraged me to keep pushing, even when things don’t go the way I hoped. She believes in me when I struggle to believe in myself and reminds me that failure is just another opportunity to grow. Her support, strength, and constant encouragement have helped shape me into the athlete and person I am today.
One moment that makes me especially proud was when we were playing Bethel and found ourselves down late in the game. We fought to stay in it and eventually went into overtime. In overtime, I had the opportunity to make a three that would help secure the win, and I was able to knock it down. I’m proud of that moment because it wasn’t just about making the shot—it was about trusting myself, staying composed under pressure, and knowing that all the work I had put in had prepared me for that moment.
