What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

As a parent, what I love most about watching my daughter play sports is seeing the person she has become because of them. Sports have taught her discipline, perseverance, responsibility, respect, and confidence. I love watching her challenge herself, overcome obstacles, and never give up, whether she wins or loses. The friendships, life lessons, and opportunities she has gained through sports have helped shape her into a strong, compassionate young woman. Seeing her passion, determination.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Alejandra’s biggest inspiration both in and out of the ring has been her parents, who have also been her boxing coaches since she first began the sport. They have dedicated countless hours to training, encouraging, and believing in her every step of the way. Beyond teaching boxing techniques, they have instilled the values of discipline, perseverance, respect, humility, and hard work. Their guidance has helped shape not only the athlete she has become but also the young woman she is today.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

The moment that makes us the proudest isn’t a championship—it is watching Alejandra grow into a strong, disciplined, and compassionate young woman. As her parents and boxing coaches, we’ve seen her overcome setbacks with determination and humility. She has carried the lessons learned in the ring into her school, community, and leadership roles. Seeing her character shine beyond sports is our greatest victory and proudest moment.
