She works incredibly hard. There is always something she is doing to improve herself, whether it’s at the gym, or at home working on drills.
Thank you for supporting Alina in this competition. Your participation made a huge impact for the Why Not You Foundation and their mission to empower change in the world, one individual at a time and one child at a time.
What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreAlina adores softball and basketball. She is extremely athletic and competitive and that drives her to be the best she possibly can. She loves the teamwork aspect, the competitiveness and the physical part. Playing basketball, she is always driving for the ball, and smiling while doing it. Playing softball, she is keeping a smile on her face while pitching, or hitting. She was so committed she learned how to do everything left handed because her coaches recommended it. She loves the challenge.
Alina has always looked up to the college stars on and off the field playing softball. She wants to be just like them in college, and she lets her inspiration drive her to get better and better. Also, Alina values her coaches just as much, they keep her teams together and motivate her teammates to keep going when they are down. Alina is usually with those coaches, helping to motivate the team to get up, cheer, and do the best they possibly can until the end of the game.
Alina tore her acl playing basketball her freshman year. Instead of stopping her, the day after her surgery, she asked about getting a gym membership. She worked extremely hard to get better and stronger than ever. She never let it set her down and only used it as motivation.
