What she loves most about volleyball is the feeling of being part of a team. She loves the competition, the energy of the game, and the relationships she has built with her teammates and coaches. Volleyball has taught her the importance of communication, trust, discipline, and perseverance. As her mom, I love seeing how much joy the sport brings her and how it has helped her grow not only as an athlete, but also into a stronger and more confident young woman.
As her mom, I am inspired by watching her continue to push herself and grow, both as an athlete and as a person. She is motivated by her goals and by the people who believe in her, but what inspires me most is seeing how hard she is willing to work to become better. Whether she is on the volleyball court, at school, or working toward her future, she gives her best and continues to challenge herself. I am proud of her determination and the way she keeps going, even when things are difficult.
One of my proudest moments as her mom was watching her become a committed college athlete. There was pressure as she watched other athletes commit before her, but she never let someone else’s timeline define hers. I watched her continue to work hard, trust the process, and stay focused on her goals. Seeing her reach that moment after everything she put into it made me incredibly proud.
