What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Ask Alyssa about softball and you’ll hear about more than the score. It’s tournament weekends, games under the lights, and teammates who have become close friends. She loves competing and working through tough plays, but sharing those moments with her team is what makes the game special. Her goal is to have the opportunity to play the sport she loves in college and continue growing through the game.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Her dad. He’s there for the early mornings, long drives, exciting wins, and rides home after a tough loss. When she’s hard on herself, he helps her see what she’s capable of. Knowing he’ll keep showing up, no matter how she plays, gives her the confidence to keep trying. As her mom, watching their connection through softball has been one of my favorite parts of this journey.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

What makes me proudest is watching her take ownership of her growth. When she doesn’t understand a play or knows she could have handled something better, she doesn’t shy away from it—she asks questions, listens to her coaches, and works to improve. Those moments show her determination and maturity. I’m proud of what she accomplishes on the field, but I’m even prouder of the way she responds to challenges and keeps pushing herself forward.
