Learn MoreAmara loves the challenge of pushing herself beyond what she thought she could do. Basketball and track have taught her discipline, teamwork, confidence and perseverance. She loves being part of a team, encouraging others and seeing hard work turn into growth. For her, sports aren’t just about winning, they’re about becoming stronger mentally and physically and learning lessons she can carry into life.
Amara is inspired by the people who continue to pursue their dreams even when the journey isn’t easy, especially her family, coaches and teammates. She admires people who lead with faith, character and determination. Their example reminds her that success isn’t just about talent, it’s about showing up, working hard, staying humble and using your gifts to encourage and inspire others.
What makes me proudest isn’t one win or one race. It’s watching Amara continue to show up. She balances basketball, track, academics, leadership and her other talents while still encouraging those around her. Even when things don’t go as planned, she doesn’t quit. Watching her learn to turn disappointment into motivation and keep working toward her goals has been one of my proudest moments as her mom.
