Amare loves the competition, the excitement, and being part of a team. He enjoys challenging himself, learning new skills, and seeing his hard work pay off. Most of all, he loves stepping onto the field, giving everything he has, and proving that his age never determines his ability.
Amare is inspired by his coaches, teammates, and family, who constantly encourage him to work hard and believe in himself. He also looks up to older athletes because they show him what dedication can achieve. Their example pushes him to keep improving, stay humble, and never give up.
My proudest moments have been watching Amare repeatedly get moved up to play with older children—and never become intimidated. Instead, he rises to every challenge and proves that he belongs. Seeing how much he has progressed by third grade, while maintaining his confidence, discipline, and relentless work ethic, makes me unbelievably proud.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
