What is Youth Athlete of the Year?
Learn MoreAmaris loves judo because it challenges her and always pushes her to get better. The feeling of stepping on the mat, competing, and seeing all her hard work in practice pay off. Even when it gets tough, it makes her want to keep improving and become a better version of herself.
I would say it’s a combination of her family and her coach. Her coach is always pushing her to reach her full potential and never allows her to settle for less than her best. As her family, we’re there through the tough losses and the big wins, reminding her that both are part of the journey. We encourage her to embrace every emotion, learn from each experience, and use it as motivation to keep growing and moving forward.
The moment that makes us the proudest is watching her step onto the mat and give it everything she has. Win or lose, we can always see that she fought with heart, determination, and gave her absolute best.
