She loves being part of a team, working hard, and seeing her hard work pay off. She enjoys the feeling of accomplishing something she has worked for, but most of all, she loves challenging herself and becoming a better version of herself every time she steps on the field or court.
Amaris, aka Mona, says that the person who inspires her most is herself. She says she gets herself up and keeps pushing because she wants to succeed. In her own words, “I don’t want to be a failure. I won’t let myself be average.” Her determination, confidence, and desire to be the best version of herself are what continue to motivate her on and off the field.
One of my proudest moments is when younger athletes come up to Amaris and ask her for advice on batting or catching. It makes me proud to see that they look up to her and trust her knowledge. It shows me that all her hard work is not only making her a better athlete, but also some younger players can look up to.
