What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

She loves the opportunity to challenge herself, improve every day, and be part of a team. She enjoys setting goals, working hard, and seeing the results of her effort. Sports have taught her discipline, resilience, leadership, and confidence. She loves competing, building friendships with teammates, and representing her school and community. Most of all, she enjoys the excitement and joy that come from playing the game she loves.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Ameera’s little sisters inspire her every day. They look up to her, which motivates her to work hard, lead by example, and be her best both on and off the court. Their encouragement, energy, and belief in her reminds her to stay positive and never give up. She wants to show them that with dedication, resilience, and a strong attitude, they can achieve their goals too. Knowing they are cheering for her makes every game and practice more meaningful.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

The moment I am most proud of in her athletic journey was when she was selected to represent all student-athletes during the hiring process for her school’s new Athletic Director. While her accomplishments on the court are impressive, this opportunity reflected something even more meaningful: the trust her peers, coaches, and school leaders have in her character, leadership, and judgment. Watching her use her voice to advocate for others showed that her impact extends far beyond sports.
