Ames had to learn to push through his anxiety in order to join a rugby club where he knew absolutely no one, all so he could play the sport.

His coaches have truly inspired him. They push him beyond limits he didn’t know existed, challenge him to be better, and believe in him even when he may not see it in himself. They see the player he is today and the player he has the potential to become. Watching that belief and encouragement bring out the best in Ames has been incredible to witness.
The fact that Ames was able to overcome his anxiety and step outside his comfort zone has been one of my proudest moments. Watching him train four days a week, seeing his dedication, determination, and the love he has developed for the sport absolutely amazes me. Seeing how much he has grown, both on and off the field, makes me incredibly proud.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
