Amina loves bonding with her teammates, improving her skills and seeing it transition into playing also building the confidence and excitement she gets from scoring! Her teammates have become a huge role in her success, they’re practically all sisters and she loves each of them. Being apart of her current AAU team has sky rocketed her confidence tremendously, seeing her own growth and elevation has continued her love for the sporty even more!
Amina’s family inspires her both on and off the court. Her family has been so supportive through her bball journey, especially her mother. Raised by a village of love, single mom, grandparents, uncles and stepfather. Lastly, Caitlin Clark is her inspiration on the court. Caitlin’s humbleness, competitive drive and her ability to not let outsiders affect her game has inspired her.
A moment in Amina’s athletic journey that makes me so proud of her is when she began basketball two and a half years ago, she didn’t know anything. Starting from scratch and losing majority of her games never stopped her or discouraged her. Fast forward today, she’s competing and winning to teams she use to loose to. Last month she traveled to Las Vegas and her along with her teammates won the championship, a 3 day tournament. Her passion, determination and sacrifices make me so proud of her!
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Youth Athlete of the Year, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
