Andrew loves the friendships he has built through sports and being part of a team working toward the same goal. He loves competing, but he may love improving even more—learning something new, working at it and seeing that work pay off. Sports have also given him opportunities to travel, meet new people, challenge himself and create memories with his teammates that he’ll carry with him long after the games are over.
His younger brother inspires him more than anyone. They are constantly competing—soccer, basketball, games around the house or just about anything else they can turn into a contest. They push each other, celebrate each other’s successes and definitely argue about who is better! Having a younger brother chasing him has helped Andrew learn that if he wants to stay ahead, he has to keep working. Their competition makes them both better.
We’re proudest watching Andrew step into new situations and simply be himself. Through new teams, coaches, teammates and positions, he adapts, works hard and finds a way to contribute. He listens, learns and embraces whatever role his team needs without losing the personality that makes him Andrew. His coaches always enjoy having him around, and somehow nearly every one ends up giving him a nickname! Watching him grow while staying true to himself makes us incredibly proud.
