Join the CompetitionI would say that he really loves the sport because of the people he has met during his time in the sport. Coach Ron Simms invited my son to a boxing camp in Fort Wayne, Indiana several years past and my son had the pleasure of having dinner with Andre Ward. The memories that he will carry for the rest of his life is the best part of competing. I would say play but everyone knows "You Don't Play Boxing"
My son really admires Mohammed Ali. He admires everything he did in and out of the ring. He was lucky enough to meet with Ali's grandson Nico Ali Walsh. That was another highlight for him as well.
I am proud that he was able to fight his way from being a special-needs student to graduating high school at just 13 years old. Boxing brought him out of his shell, and his confidence flourished. Boxing has helped him overcome so many barriers, and I feel he is a perfect example of what hard work can accomplish. He could also be a great role model for others with learning disabilities. He graduated with an impressive 3.91 GPA.
