What do they love most about playing their sport(s)?

Angelo genuinely loves baseball. He loves the competition, the friendships, and the feeling of being part of a team. As a catcher, he especially loves being involved in every pitch and helping his teammates from behind the plate. But what I love most is that he is always excited to learn. Win or lose, he leaves the field thinking about what he can do better next time. Baseball isn’t something we have to push him to do—he is usually the one asking when he can practice again.

Who inspires them—on or off the field—and why?

Angelo is inspired by the people who work hard even when no one is watching. He looks up to great baseball players, especially catchers, but his biggest lessons have come from the coaches, teammates, and family members who have taught him that talent alone is never enough. He understands that becoming better takes discipline, humility, and consistency. He wants to be a great player, but we are most proud that he is learning to be a great teammate and person along the way.

What’s one moment in their athletic journey that makes you proudest?

The moments that make me proudest are actually not the trophies or great plays. They are the times Angelo has been disappointed, overlooked, or had a difficult game and still chose to come back and work harder. At his age, it would be easy to become discouraged, but he keeps showing up. He supports his teammates, puts his gear back on, gets behind the plate, and tries again. Watching him learn that setbacks do not define him and seeing his love for baseball remain strong makes me more proud.
